SERIAL NUMBER
Some KUGS products are subject to marking regulations according to the Swiss Weapons Act (Loi sur les Armes - LArm) and related Weapons Ordinance (Ordonnance sur les Armes - OArm). Individual markings on KUGS products use an internationally recognized prefix to indicate the country and year of manufacture. Here are two examples of markings:
CH21-4567
CH is the Swiss country code, as KUGS products are made in Switzerland. And in this example, 21 stands for Year 2021. The next four digits are the serial number suffix. Upon request, KUGS products can also bear a custom alphanumeric serial number suffix at the customer's request, for example:

Sometimes, being able to identify a common product using a unique serial number may be handy. For example, when declaring a theft, or in case of seizure, to write down a more accurate inventory. That is why we decided to assign a unique serial number to all our pocket knives.
